LME/MCOs Coordinate on Upcoming Medicaid Rate Reductions
The North Carolina Association of Public Community Health Plans remains deeply committed to open, transparent communication with our provider partners during this time of significant uncertainty.
On September 29, we shared a letter with statewide provider associations outlining important updates regarding the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS)-directed rate adjustments.
The LME/MCOs are preparing to implement the NCDHHS-directed rate reductions effective October 1, 2025, with system readiness by November 1, 2025. Should NCDHHS determine before November 1 that the reductions are no longer needed, the LME/MCOs will not move forward with those adjustments.
The association continues to work collaboratively with NCDHHS and the North Carolina General Assembly to mitigate these cuts and protect access to care for individuals and families across our state.
We encourage providers and stakeholders to review the full letter linked below for details on the timing and process for implementation. Each LME/MCO will also be communicating directly with its network providers regarding claims processing and related technical guidance.
